About Dr. Steven Novella
Dr. Novella is an academic
neurologist on full-time faculty at Yale University School of Medicine. He is
the co-founder and President of the New
England Skeptical Society, Associate Editor of the Scientific Review of Alternative Medicine , and
a contributing editor of Quackwatch , a consumer advocacy website dealing with
all types of health fraud. He is also the host of The Skeptics’ Guide to the Universe,
a weekly podcast discussing paranormal topics,
pseudoscience, skepticism, and controversial claims from a scientific point of
view.
Articles published in Weird
Science are brief commentaries on issues related to fringe science and
pseudoscience. The topics dealt with are often complex and deep, and therefore
these commentaries are not intended to be definitive scientific treatises or
comprehensive reviews. Rather, they are intended to highlight interesting
aspects of how these topics relate to society, the practice of science, and
belief.
